Custom Games
Transform your Attraction Parks, Business Hotels, Leisure Venues, Team Building Events & more into unforgettable adventures.
Cluetivity For You
Cluetivity is a location-based augmented reality gaming platform where players explore a real-world location, solve riddles and puzzles, follow a story and interact with augmented reality content whilst moving around the space in groups of between 2 and 8 players using an iPad.
A Custom Game, unlike our ready-to-play games, is a unique game built by Cluetivity for your brand, your location and your story.
We build Custom Games for corporate teams, event companies, museums, resorts and tourist offices worldwide.

How We Build Your Custom Game
Each Custom Game project follows an initial four-step process. Share your concept, objective, or use case with us.
You are involved in the key decision points. We handle everything in between.
Here is an example of a Custom Game project timeline:
%
Week 1
Discovery and Concept:
We run an initial workshop to define your game concept, storyline, locations and audience. Together, we agree on the game concept and the tech requirements.
%
Week 2 - 4
Design and Production:
Our team creates the full game content: storyline, riddles, puzzles, AR interactions, characters, branded visuals, route planning, optional real props, audio and language.
%
Week 5 - 7
Prototyping and Testing:
We build a working prototype and test it. Every puzzle, route and interaction is validated before launch. You review and approve before it goes live.
%
Week 8
Launch and Support:
Your game goes live with full hardware and software configuration. Your team receives onboarding materials and staff training.
Inside Your Custom Game
Every Custom Game includes the full Cluetivity platform pack, built around your brand
Exclusive Storyline and Experience: built around your location, brand and audience.
Puzzles and interactive challenges: riddles, puzzles, mini games, photo and video challenges, augmented reality interaction.
Video, audio and Augmented Reality (AR) content: intro and outro custom sequences and augmented reality in-game character interactions.
Branding and Localisation: your logo, colours, branded UI and language versions.
Scalable Deployment: runs for 2 to 2,000+ players. Multiple simultaneous teams with real-time tracking.
Optional Virtual Reality (VR) elements: embedded VR experience acting as riddles in the game. Suited for museums, visitor centers and indoor venues.
Optional Physical Kit: called ActionPack, with printed materials and real props that extend and enhance the game experience.
Hardware and Setup
iPad
Cluetivity games run on iPad. Three options:
Use your own compatible iPads. We guide you to configure them remotely.
Rent fully configured iPads through us for events and pilots.
- Stable connection throughout
- Full map data available at all times
- Real-time team tracking enabled
- Recommended for all group sizes
- No satellite map
- No real-time team tracking
- No real-time updates and time pause
SIM Card
SIM cards load map data and keep the connection stable during gameplay. The game runs without one, but no internet connection affects satellite map loading and team tracking. We recommend SIM cards for all outdoor events and large groups.
ActionPack (Optional)
The ActionPack is a physical game kit: a bag with props, printed materials and items that add a tactile layer to the AR experience. It is optional but recommended for premium experiences.
Paper-based version: lighter, lower cost
Fully custom ActionPack: designed around your game theme, brand and audience

Why a License Rather Than a One-Time Purchase?
A One-Time purchase means higher upfront costs and a static game. No updates, no platform improvements. The game ages as technology moves on. A license means lower upfront cost and continuous improvements: iOS compatibility fixes, new platform features and game updates included. Total cost over time is typically lower.
Turnkey Solution (optional)
One contract covers everything: game development, custom ActionPack, pre-configured iPads and active SIM cards. Best for partners launching quickly, running large groups or operating across multiple locations without a dedicated tech team.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to build a Custom Game?
A standard custom game takes typically 8 to 16 weeks from signed contract to launch. Timeline depends on complexity and how quickly content is approved at each stage. We agree on a production schedule at the start so there are no surprises.
Can I use my own iPads?
Yes. We assist to configure compatible iPads during onboarding. If you do not have devices, we offer fully configured rental iPads for events, or you can purchase pre-configured devices as part of a turnkey package.
What happens if I need to update the game after launch?
Your license includes access to the game customizer. You can update locations, riddles, texts and media at any time without developer support. Platform and iOS updates happen automatically as part of the license. Of course, our game designers are available to develop new content for an additional cost.
How many players can run the game at the same time?
Multiple teams can run simultaneously at the same location or across different cities. We have supported events with over 2,000 players at once. We advise on the right hardware setup based on your group size.
What is the difference between a custom game and a ready-to-play Cluetivity game?
Ready-to-play games such as Operation Mindfall, Blackout and Magic Portal are standard products that can run in any city. A custom game is built for you alone: your location, your brand, your story. No other partner runs it.
Can the game be available in multiple languages?
Yes. Multi-language options are available. We have built games in more than 17 languages. Localisation is scoped and priced by language and content volume.
Is the ActionPack mandatory?
No. The ActionPack is optional and many partners run successful sessions without physical props. For premium experiences, the physical element increases immersion and perceived value. We advise on whether it makes sense for your use case.
Can the game run indoors as well as outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor games use GPS navigation. Indoor games use static visual instructions. Custom games can combine both. As an example setup, an outdoor route can end with an indoor finale.
